BAYER MATERIALS SCIENCE

Bayer Materials Science, a division of Bayer AG responsible for producing BAYDUR, was rebranded as Covestro in 2015. In 2019, Covestro sold its European system house business to H.I.G. Capital, a private equity firm. This transaction led to the establishment of a new company, Plixxent, which assumed operations of Covestro’s former polyurethane systems house in Europe.

PLIXXENT PRODUCTS

– PLIXXOPOL® RI 4696W005: A polyol formulation designed for use in the RIM (Reaction Injection Moulding) process with PLIXXONAT® types to produce mouldings with densities between 500 and 700 kg/m?. With the addition of suitable flame retardants, it yields the mould-foamed products BAYDUR® 66FR and BAYDUR® 66FR-1.

– PLIXXOPOL® RC 4880C012: A polyol formulation that, when reacted with PLIXXONAT® N111 and PLIXXONAT® N126 using the RIM method, produces mouldings with a density range of 1,050 – 1,150 kg/m?. The resulting microcellular, mould-foamed products include BAYDUR® 110 and, with suitable flame retardants, BAYDUR® 110 FR-N, BAYDUR® 110 FR-2N, and BAYDUR® 110 FR-6.ures.
